Wang West Workshop

Wang West Workshop is a targeted engagement program that incorporates a hands on learning approach, a practical school based program that aims to strengthen student engagement, wellbeing and attendance. It provides opportunities for students to discover their talents and experience success through meaningful, authentic, hands on projects.

Open to successful applicants in Grades 3–6 through an application process, the program offers a supportive alternative learning environment one day a week. It helps students who may find full-time classroom learning challenging by providing opportunities to re-engage in learning and return to class refreshed and ready to learn.

Students participate in practical projects such as building, maintenance and cooking, all while contributing to meaningful improvements around the school. Working in small groups, students are supported in a hands on setting that encourages collaboration and active participation. The program also places a strong focus on social and emotional growth, helping students build teamwork skills, develop self-esteem and strengthen their sense of belonging within the school community.
